Finding a Qualified Professional to Treat Women with ADD
For women looking for a qualified professional in their area, here are a list of questions to ask:

1. How long have you been treating adults with ADD?

2. What proportion of patients that you treat are adults with ADD? What proportion of those adults are women?

3. Are you familiar with the organizations called CH.A.D.D. and ADDA?

4. Are you familiar with books on adult ADD published during the past several years? Have you read them? Which do you recommend to your patients?

5. Are you familiar with ADDvance, A Magazine for Women with ADD?

6. Do you recommend Sari Solden's book, Women with Attention Deficit Disorder, to your clients?

7. Do you work with other professionals in the community who are experts in ADD? Have you given presentations on adult ADD in the community?

8. Have you written any articles on adult ADD?

9. Have you attended workshops or national conferences on adult ADD?

Don't expect a "yes" to all of these questions. There are only a few people in the country who could answer "yes" to all of them, but if you find a professional who answers "yes" to some of these then you are on the right track to finding an experienced professional who can help you deal with ADD issues in a constructive manner.
